Zoë Kravitz is helping giving boyfriend Channing Tatum an image overhaul.
In an interview with V Man Magazine conducted by pal Jonah Hill, the “Dog” star, 41, counted both his former co-star and his current flame as style inspirations.
“It has been a journey,” Tatum said of his newfound love of fashion, saying that he went from wearing only white T-shirts to putting on “another suit for another talk show” in Los Angeles.
“I just got over it. I stopped acting for a while, life changed, and I really wanted to pay attention and figure out who I was — that was like four years ago,” he said.
“Look, I went on a little bit of a journey trying to do Balenciaga and all this s—t,” he continued. “And I was just like, ‘This ain’t me either. I don’t know what the kids are doing these days.’”
Tatum split with stylist Maeve Reilly last year and now works with Andrew Mukamal, who also dresses Kravitz, 33.
Recalled the star, “Some friends of mine, like you and [Kravitz] were like, ‘Why don’t you just wear what you wear? Why don’t you just be you?’ You gave me some very specific style tips. I’m really enjoying finding my own voice and my own way with some very beautiful guardrails.”
Apparently, 38-year-old Hill advised Tatum to avoid wearing boots, calling them “a little Mumford and Sons” for the “Magic Mike” actor.
And he may be running out of footwear options, having previously revealed that Kravitz told him to kick Crocs to the curb.
Tatum even said he’s asked Kravitz’s estranged stepdad, Jason Momoa, for tips — although after he coveted a pink-and-white cardigan the “Aquaman” star was wearing, “everyone” agreed the style didn’t work on his frame.
While Kravitz and Tatum walked the 2021 Met Gala red carpet separately in September, perhaps they’ll make their fashionable debut at the glitzy event this May.
