The suspect who allegedly gunned down a man and wounded his brother outside a Bronx housing complex was busted early Wednesday, cops said.
Kai Johnson, 26, was nabbed at 1:30 a.m. for allegedly shooting Price Tunstall, 24, and his 24-year-old brother Malik Tunstall, in front of a Taylor Avenue building at NYCHA’s Monroe Houses around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to authorities and police sources.
Price Tunstall was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and pronounced dead, authorities said.
His brother was taken to the same hospital in critical condition.
The motive for the shooting remained unclear Wednesday.
Both victims are affiliated with the Monroe Houses Crew gang, which operates out of the housing complex, according to cops and sources.
The duo was busted in January 2020 on a federal narcotics conspiracy charge as part of an 11-member gang takedown at the Monroe Houses, prosecutors have said.
Members of the gang sold drugs, committed robberies, shot at rivals, possessed illegal firearms and one man was even accused of a murder, according to Manhattan federal prosecutors.
