As someone who has moved several times over the past 20 years, walking is stressful (and not just on a day of tricks).
Changes of scenery, while often refreshing, take some getting used to – new noise, stores, restaurants, people – and it takes time. When you were at your old place, you may have to regularize your routine, but you are changing your life.
It is no different for baseball players when they trade or sign with a new team – even if they are one of the best in the game.
Despite finishing with a career-best 10 percent walking rate in 2020, Nolan Arenado had a career-low batting average (.253) and .738 OPS, his lowest point since 2013. He struck out eight homers, scored 26 runs and scored. 23 while playing 48 matches. In part, an injured AC joint in his left shoulder can be attributed to his struggles.
According to the baseball reference, Arnado was on a 162-game pace to record 28 players, 88 RBIs and 78 runs – a far cry from the expectations built from 2015–19, when the ex-rocking star hit the Rocky-Filming .300. 40 home runs, 124 RBIs, 104 runs and a .937 OPS. He was an All-Star all those seasons and finished eighth in MVP voting each year.
Arenado was definitely a first-round pick – when his name surfaced, you clicked on the draft button or ran up to the draft board (when we drafted the person) with a smile on your face.
this year? Well …
After being traded to the Cardinals, Arenado is not the first round.
With his 32.3 average draft position according to Fantasy Alarm, Arnado will now cost you a second or third round pick. It seems like a bargain for the man, who had the worst numbers from 2015-19 with 37 homers, 110 RBIs, .898 OPS and -287 average.
But, why the price drop? Part of this is due to Arenado’s clash in 2020 and his shoulder injury. Another factor: Coors effect. He became a fantasy asset in Colorado – .322 with 135 homers, 461 RBI and .985 OPS in 543 games. He no longer has the luxury of playing half of his games at Colorado’s offensive asylum, so his stats (with 26799 homers, 299 RBIs and an -793 OPS) come to mind in 536 games outside of Coers Field.
Does this mean that Arenado will become the player he was outside of Colorado? Not at all The players have been successful since leaving the coach field. DJ Lemahieu is a top-25 fantasy option in the Bronx after hitting .336 in his first two seasons (he hit .299 in seven seasons with Rocky). Matt Holiday had 21 homers, and 2 RBIs and A.859 OPS with 24 homers, 4 RBIs and one in various stops from 2009-128. 93PS paused during OPS.
Arenado will likely fall somewhere in the middle of his split. In baseball terms he is projected to hit 2021 with 2828, 85 RBI, 77 runs and an .872 OPS.
In his current ADP, Arenado is being taken ahead of third basemen such as Anthony Rendon of the Angels, Astros’ Alex Bregman and Rafael Devers of the Red Sox, all of whom Roto Rage is ranked ahead of the former Rocky. Arenado is also being drafted ahead of the top 20 pitchers such as Luis Castillo, Brandon Woodruff, Blake Snell, Zac Gallen and Tyler Glasso, none of whom will pass to take the Roto Rage Arrèze Sense course field (especially Matt Chapman, With third baseman such as Eugenio) Suarez, Cavan Bigigo and Alex Bohm available in later rounds).
Arenado became a fictional gold mine in Colorado, but in St. Louis it is going to be a separate ballgame. Although the price is a bargain for a man who consistently puts in large numbers, Roto Rage believes there are better buys.
