The Dodgers are a game third and up in the National League West .500. Trevor Bauer did not sign up for this.
The right-hander told the world that he was upset about the ongoing meltdown of the World Series champs. LA have lost 15 of their last 20 matches after starting the season 13–2. The latest defeat was a 2–1 decision to the Angels on Sunday in which Bauer started and took the loss.

“I’m personally offended. I hate Frickin. I want to win, that’s why I’ve come here, and we’re not playing to the best of our ability right now,” said Bauer (Per MLB.com), Which gave up two runs in six innings.
Bauer has been prolific this season – he has a 2.50 ERA and the team has 67 strikes in eight matches. He has certainly outperformed his 3–2 record; In his two losses and three no-decisions he has allowed two, one, two, one and two earned runs.
And that becomes one of the primary reasons for the Dodgers’ division to be behind the Giants and Padders: the offense has spread. LA has averaged 4.3 runs in a 20-game stretch with a .221 / .332 / .358 slash line, 19 home runs and 10 strikeouts per game. Those numbers were inflated by a 14-run out on Saturday and a 16-run game on 2 May.
Center fielder Cody Belinger (leg) has been missed for a month and counting, but LA’s lineup must have been deep enough to overcome it. Corey Seeger (.678 OPS since April 18), Max Muncy (.642 OPS) and Ginin Lux (.578 OPS) have all struggled at the plate.
Chris Taylor said on Sunday, “We’re working on the bat and getting people on base, we just can’t do them in the drive, it seems”.
LA manager Dave Roberts tried to sound positive after losing another close competition to his team. The Doggers are 2-9 in one-run games during the current telspin.
“It’s easy to see results today because we have scored a run today, but I think today is a body of work, the last few days have been much better,” he told.
Hitters will test that theory, as they face a mixed bag of pitching staff during the nine-game homestand starting on Tuesday. LA will play two matches against the Mariners, three against the Marlins and four against the Diamondbacks. The Sierra team ranks 18th among majors in the ERA, Miami third, and Arizona 25th on Sunday.
