Driver killed while fixing tire on Long Island Expressway

A man was fatally struck by another motorist in Queens early Monday as he fixed a flat tire, according to cops.

The 52-year-old victim was working on his tire on the Long Island Expressway near the College Point Boulevard exit just after midnight when an oncoming car struck him, authorities said.

He was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, where he was pronounced dead.

The other driver remained on scene.

There were no immediate arrests, and the crash remains under investigation.
