Fan Controlled Football League revisits Josh Gordon with Johnny Manziel

If they tune into the Fan Controlled Football League, Browns fans will have a familiar vision, as they will see Johnny Manziel throwing to Joss Gordon.

The former Heiman winner is already playing in the new football league, but it appears that Gordon will join him. Earlier this week, Manziel posted on social media asking fans if they would like to see the two again.

A few days later, according to ESPN’s Adam Scare, it became a reality.

MORE: Everything to know about Fan Controlled Football League

The Fan Controlled Football League plays every Saturday, so it is not possible that we see Gordon play immediately. FCF is also playing in a bubble, so there are possible health protocols that prevent him from playing immediately. The second wrinkle is that Manzil will also become inactive this week after undergoing dental surgery.

But we should see Manzil and Gordon play together next Saturday (March 6). For those who are not watching the new football league, you are in for a treat. The league actually feels like: Fans control almost every aspect of the league.

Fans call plays, set the rules and even vote on what pants the head coach is about to wear.

Gordon has an on-and-off relationship with the NFL as he struggles with substance abuse problems. He last played for the Patriots and Sequacks in 2019. He was suspended for all of 2015, 2016 and 2020. He appeared ready to make an appearance late in the season, but then broke the terms of his conditional reinstatement. He was once suspended indefinitely by the NFL on 15 January 2021.

Since he is unfit to play in the NFL, it is understandable why he wants to showcase his talent in FCF. It will be interesting to see how he performs in the new football league.
