Anthony Rizzo and Freddie Freeman could not stop smiling as they chatted in a laugh Wednesday night. Why? Because Rizzo was pitching Freeman at the time and eventually kicked him out at a slow pace.
The All-Star first baseman had his odd performance as Rizzo’s Cubs were 10–0 ahead in the seventh inning at Freeman’s Brave Atlanta. Cubs manager David Ross decided to save some bullpen weapons and pitch several players. Rizzo was the first to visit the mound.
Rizzo and Freeman received national attention 10 days after Rizzo, mic-up for ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball”, shouted “Frederick” as they returned Freedom to second base on a rundown play. They both had a good laugh. A smiling Rizzo stared at a smiling Frederick from 60 feet, 6 inches away, looking more pleased.

Freeman was in very good humor after the game.

“That’s what baseball is, what sports is, it’s to put a smile on people’s faces,” said Freeman, per reporter / podcaster Grant McKayle.
Freeman could afford to be happy, seeing that he had already collected four hits, including a home run in the game and that his team was big at the time. If he was still in a good mood later, he could have written a strange message on the ball after Rizzo It was sent to Freeman to sign.
