GoFundMe near $ 2.8M for sons of Atlanta spa shooting victim

Donations of up to $ 2.8 million continue to be made on a GoFundMe page for two sons of Atlanta spa shooting victim Hyun Jung Grant until Monday morning.

Randy Park, the 23-year-old son of the slain woman, locked her mother and seven others in massage parlors in the Atlanta area last week.

But around 73,000 donors answered the call.

Park wrote in an update on the fundraising page after crossing $ 1 million last week, “To say it frankly, I can’t believe you guys.”

The page reads, “I would be grateful to give the rest of my days a second chance to my family.”

Park said that he and his brother are now alone in the US after their mother’s death, unable to come to the rest of their family in South Korea and to the US.

Grant was killed in a bloody shooting spree on Tuesday in three massage parlors in Atlanta, killing eight people, including six women of Asian descent.

There have been condolences across the US to honor the Asian community after Robert Aaron Long was allegedly suspected of killing eight people.
