Henry Cuellar blasts Biden for not going to the border in the midst of a migrant crisis

Texas Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar himself called President Biden for not visiting the US-Mexico border, and said the recent visit of the White House delegation was inadequate.

“Any President Should Come Down [and] Actually spend time with border communities. You know, the President sent a White House delegation and a group of people, “the nine-term Congress reported Fox News. “He did not talk to anyone, there are no Congress members here either.”

Biden’s election in November – and the expectation of more liberal immigrant policies from his administration – has sparked waves of new migrants, many fleeing poverty and crime in Central America.

More than 100,000 were found by Border Patrol agents on the southern border last month. Thousands of minors are currently detained in shelters run by the Department of Health and Human Services.

White House press secretary Jane Saki has acknowledged the extraordinary challenge now faced at the border, but called the situation a crisis.

“I don’t think we need to put new labels on what we’ve already told that it’s challenging,” she said while pressed during a briefing on Tuesday.
