Jerry West Annoyed by Jenny Bush’s Most Important Lakers List

Lakers legend Jerry West feels that team owner Jenny Boos has not included him among the top-five most important Lakers of all time.

West – whose silhouette is the official NBA logo – spent his entire 14-year career with the Lakers and earned the team the title in 1972. He was named an All-Star each season, voted on 12 All-NBA teams and was the head coach of the Lakers from 19 1979 to 19 head, leading them to the playoffs each year.

But, Buss still does not consider West one of its top five most important Lakers of all time.

During an appearance “All smoke“In April, the podcast, Bose, announced Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, LeBron James and Phil Jackson, who were the head coaches of the Kobe-Shakeel O’Neill lineage team.

“I saw that the other day Jenny Buss made a statement, five of the most important Lakers, one of the most offensive things I’ve ever heard in my life,” West said.Hoop do jour podcast” This week.

“I had been there many times, I had a lot of success. Be curious to know that if I had not been there, they would have had that success.”

West served as the Lakers’ general manager and executive vice president from 1982 to 2000. During that time, he was instrumental in creating the Lakers dynasties and acquired Bryant and O’Neill in Los Angeles. West was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980.

“I never take credit for stuff, not me. I was probably just a good luck when I was around,” West said. “But I know that when this thing broke, there were years where they Were not very good. “

Other veteran Lakers who did not make it to the bus list for the storied franchise include O’Neill, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Boiler and James Worth.

O’Neill said earlier this month during an episode of “Inside the NBA” that he did not agree with the bus list, but respected his decision. He gave a long explanation on that “Big Podcast with Shake”

“I am 49 years old. For the last ten years, [I’ve learned] You have to respect people’s opinions, even if they don’t [the same as] Yours, ”said O’Neill. “I love Jenny Bus… I don’t want to put up a fight about this. I’m glad my name is mentioned, period. I’m glad my statue is in front of the Staples Center. I’m glad That my jersey hangs over there … I’m not crazy about it. “
