Jessica and Nellie Corda dominate the 2021 LPGA season

It has been in the family for the LPGA Tour so far in 2021.

The first two events of the season were captured by the Korda sisters – Jessica Korda claimed the season-opening Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions and Nellie Korda captured the Gainbridge Championship.

22-year-old Nelly said after her win last week, “Yes, Jess’s victory, I loved, ‘Well, I have to get one now.”

“We were about a year. She won in Thailand and I was a pioneer in Singapore. But it is good for Korda to win back now.

And it can be three in a row. As of Friday afternoon, the two were in the top 20 of the LPGA Drive On Championship in Cordas, Okla., Florida. They were held together for the first two rounds of the event.

“Nelly and I were talking about being in a fish bowl today,” Jessica said Thursday, joining the group together with the world’s No. 1 Jin Young Ko.

Jessica, 28, and Nelly are only two parts of a very athletic family. His father Petr Korda was a top tennis player for years and won the 1988 Australian Open. Mother Regina Rajchartova was also a professional tennis player, who rose to 26th place in the world. Brother Sebastian, the family’s 20-year-old child, following in his parents’ footsteps, reached the fourth round of the French Open last year. He is starting to make good on a promising junior career potential.

“My dad always said back in the day that golf was a retirement game. We obviously changed his mind completely,” said Jessica In a recent Golf Digest interview Which had the profile of both sisters.

Nelly’s win last week saw her rise to number 3 in the world, while Jessica finished 18th.

“Obviously the reason we play golf is the best,” Nelly told Ranking magazine. “It means a lot to us, but there comes a point where we don’t understand how it works. When you’re at the top of the money list, you’re doing really well. “
