Jimmy Garoppolo Trade Rumors: The future for the 4921 QB is ‘bleak’, expected to be dealt with during the 2021 NFL Draft

Jimmy Garoppolo’s future in San Francisco is “bleak”.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the 49ers are expected to move the incumbent quarterback at some point during the 2021 NFL Draft, with Garoppolo likely from the Bay Area before the end of the weekend.

Garapolo, 30, has been the subject of trade rumors since the 49ers decided to trade two future first-round picks to the Dolphins for the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft. Reports suggest the 49ers are the highest of the two quarterbacks entering the draft: Mack Jones of Alabama and North Dakota States Trains.

When recently asked about Garpolo’s future, head coach Kyle Sheenahan refused to make any definitive statement.

Garoppolo still has enough money left on his current deal, about $ 25 million per year over the next two seasons, hampering San Francisco’s ability to trade him. Any deal will likely facilitate a contract restructuring.

Garoppolo’s career has been a mixed bag including both high-level quarterback play and injury, with passersby missing nine games in 2020 with ankle issues.

While San Francisco is coming up with QB1 this weekend, it almost certainly won’t be Jimmy GQ.
