This is the chilling moment a killer sits down next to a Grubhub deliveryman — before stabbing him to death and stealing his e-bike in Manhattan.
The video, released by the NYPD Sunday, shows victim Sala Miah’s final moments in Sara D. Roosevelt Park in the Lower East Side, where he’d stopped to take a break around 1 a.m. after a long shift, his family told The Post.
The 51-year-old immigrant from Bangladesh is stopped with his bike near a park bench when the suspect comes and takes a seat near him, the video shows.
Miah was slashed in the face and stabbed in the abdomen — with the killer then riding off on his bike.
He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital but couldn’t be saved, cops said.
“I hope they will catch the guy and I hope that it’s not going to happen to somebody else,” Miah’s brother-in-law Muhammad Ahsan, 44, said. “He should be put in jail for what he has done.”
Ahsan said his sister’s husband worked hard to send money back home to his wife, 19-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son. He explained that Miah left the country because he feared for his life over his stance on politics.
“The ruling party, they torture and detain the opposition party,” he said. “Sala was involved in the opposition party.”
“Now he lost his life here,” Ahsan said quietly.
Ahsan, who said Miah only recently bought the e-bike, said he called his sister and her family to tell them the delivery worker was dead.
“They can’t believe it happened in a city like this, that he was killed,” Ahsan said.
There have been no arrests.
