Even if the Nucks lose their final nine games, they are assured of playing in the “postseason” game.
Saturday’s loss to Toronto has won at least one spot play-in tournament between Knox 7 and 10.
Formerly assuring a top-10 finish, the Knicks (35-28) began their six-game road trip on Sunday in Houston. Winners of 10 games out of 11, are in fourth place – one game ahead of fifth-placed Atlanta and 1 th game ahead of sixth-placed Boston.
The Knots are hoping to avoid a play-in event, with the seventh-seeded team versus the eighth-seeded team and the No. 9 seed facing the No. 10 seed. The winner of the 7 vs 8 game automatically makes the playoff. The loser faces the winner of the 9 vs. 10 game for the final spot.
If the Nucks are out in a play-in event, they return to the lottery – their playoffs span eight seasons.
