Indianapolis – Lakers coach Frank Vogel liked what he saw of LeBron James’ return
“It would take time to get his time back at 100 percent, but he looked good for most of the game,” Vogel said. “He looked like his old self again.”
James, after a six-game absence, scored 24 points, including seven key points, to lead the Lakers to a 122–115 win over the Pacers on Saturday. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 28 points.
If they win in New Orleans on Sunday and Portland lose to Denver that day, the Lakers could reach No. 6 seed. If the Lakers remain at number seven, they will be in the play-in tournament against the No. 8 seed.
James was out of the last six matches while recovering from an ankle sprain. He missed six weeks and then returned to play two games.
“It felt a lot better the last time I came back,” James said. “I enjoyed coming to the game. I think I will get better and better in every match. It will take a few games to get it back. If i play it depends on the coach and training staff [Sunday]. “
Davis, who missed the previous game in Houston on Wednesday due to a tight left thigh, missed 9 of 18 shots and grabbed 10 rebounds. James played 28 minutes, taking 11 of 22 shots. James had eight assists and seven rebounds.
“I felt great the whole time,” Davis said. “It’s good to get the whole team back there.”
Andre Drummond had 15 rebounds for the Lakers, who held a 45–37 rebounding edge.
Former nett Caris Levert, who was suspected to enter the game with a knee injury, was high for the Pacers with 28. Jacker Sampson came off the bench to score 20 runs.
“Jaakar played a cat of the game,” Björkgren said. “He was really aggressive and really physical. He was playing as hard as he could.
