Lizzo on her ‘really hot body’: ‘I like being fat’

Lizzo is done defending her body.

The “Truth Hurts” rapper expressed her frustration over her shape earning more headlines than her musical success, telling People magazine in a new cover story that “we all know I’m fat.”

“It doesn’t bother me. I like being fat, and I’m beautiful and I’m healthy,” she told the publication. “So can we move on?”

The “Boys” rapper said she wants bigger women to be “freed” from the stereotypes they’ve been boxed into such as “the funny, fat friend” or “the friend who is gonna beat your ass ’cause she’s big.”

“I think I have a really hot body! I’m a body icon, and I’m embracing that more and more every day,” told the magazine. “It may not be one person’s ideal body type just like, s ay, Kim Kardashian might not be someone’s ideal, but she’s a body icon and has created a modern-day beauty standard. And what I’m

doing is stepping into my confidence and my power to create my own beauty standard.

“And one day that will just be the standard.”

Size has never been a concern for Lizzo, who definitely felt “good as hell” when she showed off her weight gain in January in a sexy dance video.

“I gained weight??,” Lizzo, 33, captioned her video, adding proudly, “I look TF GOODT?.”

While Lizzo is known for promoting self-esteem and healthy body image, negative comments finally took a toll on her last summer.

“Sometimes I feel like the world just don’t love me back. It’s like, it doesn’t matter how much positive energy you put into the world. You’re still going to have people who have something mean to say about you,” she said while sobbing during an Instagram Live in August.
