Man busted with gun, high-capacity mag outside VP mansion

Officials confirmed that a Texas man was arrested outside the vice president’s mansion in Washington, DC, with a long gun and high-caliber ammunition magazines.

Police in Texas told DC-area officials that there was a suspect at the Naval Observatory mansion in the 3400 block of Massachusetts Avenue.

Just before 12:15 pm, the US Secret Service detained 31-year-old Paul Murray of San Antonio outside the residence.

Police said the Metropolitan Police Department arrested Morena and found a rifle and ammo in his vehicle.

He was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a rifle or shotgun outside a business, possession of unregistered ammunition, and possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeder device, police said.

Police did not say what he had planned.

US Capitol Police confirmed the alert for an unknown person as the suspect went to various agencies in the DC area on Wednesday afternoon, but did not provide details according to intelligence provided to the agencies.
