Man dies in NYC shootout, 3 others injured

Police said one person was killed and three others were injured in a series of shootings in New York City on Tuesday night.

Police and sources said the bleeding began in the Bronx at about 6:15 a.m. when a 39-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were shot while sitting inside a car at East 216 Street and Olinville Avenue.

Police said the man trapped in his chest was taken to Montefore Medical Center where he was declared brought dead.

Officials said the woman was shot in the torso and hospitalized in stable condition.

Sources said that one of the suspects fled in a white minivan.

After about half an hour in Washington Heights, the 37-year-old was shot in the lower back while standing outside a building on West 175th Street.

The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital and is expected to survive.

At around 10:10 pm at the Stuyvesant Garden House in Brooklyn, a 19-year-old woman was shot in the leg once due to gunfire, police and sources.

Police said the alleged shooter, a 19-year-old man, was arrested. Charges against him were pending until early Wednesday.

Sources said that the police recovered a firearm and the spot along with 17 firepower.
