She laid down the law.
As if “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hargitay wasn’t badass enough: A recent clip showed the Emmy-winning actress springing into action to save a shoot from a disruptive singing man. The awe-inspiring Twitter clip amassed over 42,000 views as of Thursday morning.
The epic 30-second video, taken in Washington Square Park, shows Hargitay, 57 — who plays justice-crusading Captain Olivia Benson on the NBC crime series — diplomatically telling the vocal interloper to cease singing, as it was impeding production.
“Your singing was beautiful, but we’re just trying to get the shot,” the actress politely told the man, who is standing off-camera. “Is it okay if you don’t sing when we say, ‘Action’?”
According to the Twitter user who posted the video (per Variety), the serenading bystander had been singing loudly with the aim of disrupting the shoot and repeatedly ignored requests from crewmembers to desist. That’s when Hargitay stepped in to try and restore “order.”
Later on in the clip, the man subsequently offered to stop his performance in exchange for a favor from the “Lake Placid” star — although his demand was indecipherable.
“We’ll make a deal,” Hargitay responded. “I’m happy to do that for you — it’s just that we’re shooting, so it doesn’t work for the scene. Is that okay? I’ll get to you, though.”
And it appeared as if her ambassadorial approach worked like a charm: The Twitter poster wrote that the heckler “ended up leaving after the interaction” — but reportedly returned a little while later.
Nonetheless, the peanut gallery was impressed at the star’s powers of persuasion.
“She is such a class act,” gushed one fan on Twitter, while another wrote that Hargitay would make a great “public school teacher.”
Even “Law & Order: SVU” showrunner Warren Leight weighed in. “What other #1 on the call sheet could do this?” he tweeted alongside a share of the impressive clip, adding, “We all [heart emoji] @Mariska.”
