Massive fire rips through Williamsburg home, flames shoot through windows

A massive fire ripped through a Brooklyn home Thanksgiving night — sending flames shooting from the windows and injuring several firefighters.

The blaze broke out on the top floor of a three-story building on Devoe Street near Lorimer Street in Williamsburg around 11:10 p.m., the FDNY said.

Six firefighters suffered minor injuries fighting the flames and were taken to local hospitals.

The first members on scene encountered heavy fire on the third floor, extending into the cockloft and roof, officials said.

Video from the scene shows heavy fire shooting out of the windows, with smoldering debris falling to the ground.

The blaze reached four alarms, bringing 40 FDNY units and 170 members to the scene.

It raged for nearly three hours before it was placed under control at around 1:50 a.m. Friday, officials said.

Six firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the flames and were taken to local hospitals, the FDNY said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Friday morning.
