Here are some notable nuggets that happened during Mets’ spring training action on Tuesday:
Feasting on Fish
All nine Mets starters recorded a hit in the 10-0 win over the Marlins. Francisco Lindor slugged his third homer in two games and doubled off the center-field wall, and Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil and Dominic Smith each had a pair of hits.
Spring chill
Pete Alonso singled against a drawn-in infield, but his bat has begun slowly. After his 1-for-4 night, he’s 4-for-20 without a homer.
Caught my eye
Starling Marte’s first steal of the spring came in the third inning, cleanly taking second after a walk. The outfielder swiped 47 bags last season.
Wednesday’s schedule
The Mets return home to Clover Park to face the Astros at 6:10 p.m. Carlos Carrasco will make his Grapefruit League debut after pitching 3 ¹/₃ innings in a minor league intrasquad scrimmage last week.
