Mike Francesa is gone from the airwaves but he is not finished getting in scraps with New York athletes.

On Friday, Francesa and former Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard had a spat on Twitter.

“The Mets are better off without Syndergaard. In case you haven’t noticed, they have been without him for years,” Francesa tweeted.

“Damn, didn’t know you were still alive,” Syndergaard responded. “Congrats.”

Earlier this week, Syndergaard left the Mets for the Los Angeles Angels on a one-year, $21 million deal.

“[It was] definitely in the back of my mind a little bit. This is an important year for me,” Syndergaard said on Friday afternoon when asked about the Mets’ just-completed search for a general manager. “This is kind of a make-or-break time for me. I didn’t want to gamble on that kind of uncertainty that’s been going on with them.”

The Post’s Joel Sherman wrote that Syndergaard’s intention was to remain with the Mets, but silence from the Mets allowed other teams to pursue him and the Angels did so, aggressively.

Syndergaard pitched just two innings for the Mets this past season, and missed all of the shortened 2020 campaign recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Francesa ruled New York City airwaves on WFAN for over 30 years, first as co-host of “Mike and the Mad Dog” with Chris Russo, then solo when Russo departed for SiriusXM. Francesa retired, for a second time, in 2020, but you can sometimes catch a glimpse in his tweets that he’s still got some fire left.
