The legislation needed to legalize sports betting in Missouri looks set to pass in 2022 after many years of stuttering progress. Bills passed the state House in February 2022 and are now in the Senate awaiting final approval.

These bills have unanimous approval from both casino operators and major future stakeholders such as professional sports teams in Missouri. It is hoped that with the industry united behind the legislation it should have a seamless path through the chambers.

The expansive proposed sports betting rules for Missouri would see retail sportsbooks made available for all 13 riverboat casinos, along with up to 39 online sports betting skins.

While Missouri finishes the legislative process of legalizing online sports betting, some neighboring states already offer the service to people within their borders.
