Motorist kills scooter driver, drives plow into NYC’s outdoor dining area

Police and sources said the out-of-control driver badly hit a person on a scooter before landing at an outdoor dining set in Queens on Thursday night.

According to police and sources, the motorist, a 61-year-old woman, and a diner, were injured at about 7:45 a.m. in the smash outside Rosatoro at the corner of 35th Street and Dittmar Boulevard.

The three victims were taken to local hospitals, where the 29-year-old man was declared dead, police and sources said.

The status of the driver and the female dinner was not immediately clear.
