Net star kicks out with Nat’s thigh

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant was ruled out in Sunday’s game in Miami with a left thigh contusion and would not return.

After scoring eight points 1:33 into the game, Durant overtook Andre Igodala and was dismissed by Trevor Ariza.

This season, 88 percent of free-throw shooter Durant missed both of his foul shots. He remained in court, but was on the side of one leg and was seen seductively with his left thigh.

The 32-year-old eventually gave up 7:57 in the quarter for the first time in the game.

The Nets can only hope that the injury is minor and given Durant’s importance regarding his championship hopes and his recent health history, he is not lethargic.

Durant missed 18 months after ripping his Achilles while playing in the NBA Finals for the Golden State Warriors in June 2019.

He missed 23 consecutive games this season, returning on April 7, and he appeared in just 24 of 57 matches this season.

Durant had played five of six matches since his return, as he was rested as a back-to-back tailback in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Durant came in on Sunday with 28.1 points, seven rebounds and 5.4 assists. With only 15 games left on the schedule after Sunday, the Nets’ Big 3 – Durant, Kyrie Irving and currently hamstrung James Harden – have only started six games together all season.
