A model, who starred in Levi’s commercials and later became Madonna’s child, was 59 years old.
Essex-born Nick Kamen was made famous for his 1985 Lewis 501 commercial, where he was snapped in a laundrate of Marvin Gay’s Heard It Through the Grapevine.
She sang alongside Madonna in the 1986 hit Every Time You Break My Heart.
Nick, led by Pal Boy George, paid tribute to the real name Ivor Neville Kamen.
He said: “Rip off Nick Kamen, the prettiest and dearest man!”
Nick cared for himself at the age of just 18 after landing his boxers for a successful levy advertisement.
This ad led to a huge increase in sales of the levy and it came in the countdown of the 100 biggest commercials ever.
It also caught the attention of Madonna, who came out of Nick with a song she wrote to join forces with Stephen Bray.
The mega-star later stated that she was inspired by his “charisma” and “beautiful voice”.
“Every Time You Break My Heart” peaked at number five in the UK and led a successful music career for Nick.
He held four records between 1987 and 1992 – including the Four Tops 1996 hit Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever.
