NJ Flyer forces aircraft to fly midway after attacking passengers

Authorities say a United Airlines plane heading to Miami was forced to mid-flight after attacking an unruly man from New Jersey.

John Yurovich Jr., 45, had to be restrained by zip ties – and a doctor on board was forced to use “through benadryl injection” into his buttocks to calm him down. Raley News and Observer reported.

Yurovich was arrested after the plane – which flew from Newark, N.J., just after 8 a.m. Wednesday – was forced to land in South Carolina due to a disruptive passenger, court documents say.

According to the FBI complaint, Yurovich was carrying 2 grams of methamphetamine at the time.

He allegedly became agitated after going to the bathroom.

“When Yurovich returned to his seat, Yurovich behaved erratically,” the complaint states. “While he was sitting, Yurovich shouted loudly, attracting the attention of several other passengers in the vicinity.”

At one point, the suspect was seen to have seen bullets from his carry-on and ingested them, the complaint says.

Authorities said a passenger sitting next to him began shouting his hands “to keep from falling on Yurovich,” unbuttoning his mask and yelling at the person.

“Don’t do the king, keep my hands! I’ll punch you in the king’s face,” Yurovich reportedly shouted.

According to court docs, Yurovich began beating the male passenger at least seven times, breaking his glasses and opening his ear.

The victim needed seven stitches to cut his left ear, which the FBI complaint says was from a series of punches.

Some passengers tried to control Yurovich, and suffered a broken nose in the process, the complaint states.

The undocumented passenger was charged with federal assault and criminal acts on an aircraft, as well as state charges for alleged drug possession.

Eurovich’s lawyer Rose Marie Parham told the news and observer in a statement, “This whole incident is very unattainable for John. He is a loving husband and father and a successful businessman. “
