Norman Reedus says he’s returning to work on “The Walking Dead” after suffering a head injury on set earlier this month.
“Thank u for the nice thoughts it’s been a week. or two. I was in an accident. but getting better,” Reedus, 53, wrote via Instagram on Friday.
“Getting cleared and gonna be back at work Tuesday they tell me.”
In his post, Reedus – who portrays Daryl Dixon on the hit AMC horror drama series – also apologized to fans for having to bail on Atlanta’s Fandemic Tour convention as he recovered.
“Sorry bout Atlanta event I was looking forward to it,” he said.
Fans were quick to send him well wishes in the comments section, writing things like, “I can not put into words the happiness I feel seeing you post♥️” and “Love you norman… so happy you’re recovering and will be okay ♥️.”
“Thank you for letting us know, I was soooo worried about you??,” a third fan wrote. “Please rest yourself until you go back to work ???.”
Page Six previously confirmed that Reedus suffered a concussion on March 11 while working on the 11th and final season of the series in Georgia.
“He is recovering well and will return to work soon,” Reedus’ publicist, Jeffrey Chassen, told us at the time. “Thank you to everyone for their concern.”
Additionally, a rep for AMC confirmed to Page Six at the time that Reedus’ injury would “push series wrap by a few days.”
It’s still unclear how exactly he was injured, but a source exclusively told us that it was serious enough that Reedus needed to be taken to a hospital.
“He’s resting and recuperating,” the insider added, noting that Reedus was still in Georgia awaiting the clear to return to work.
