Packers vs. Chiefs live score, updates, highlights from NFL Week 9 game

Packers vs. Chiefs odds, prediction, betting trends for NFL Week 9 game

[ad_1]

It looks like the first meeting between Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have to wait. The 7-1 Packers visit the 4-4 Chiefs on Sunday for a Super Bowl I rematch, but Rodgers will miss the game due to a positive COVID-19 test on Wednesday.

Since Rodgers will miss Sunday’s game, the odds moved significantly in the Chiefs’ favor for the victory. Kansas City is coming off a slim win from last week, when they beat the Giants 20-17 on Monday night. The Chiefs are not the same team we’ve become accustomed to seeing during their deep playoff runs the last three years as they struggle to stay in the playoff picture. Mahomes, for instance, leads the NFL with 10 interceptions thrown so far.

PACKERS VS. CHIEFS ODDS: How Aaron Rodgers’ positive COVID test altered lines

The Chiefs defense has allowed the fourth most passing yards so far this season with 2,158. They have also given up 220 points total to their opponents, while the Packers defense have only given up 167 points.

The Packers’ backup quarterback for Sunday is Jordan Love, who will make his first NFL start. He’s only appeared in one game so far this season, the Packers’ 38-3 loss to the Saints in Week 1, which happens to be the Packers’ only loss this season. He threw for 68 yards that game with zero touchdowns in relief of Rodgers.
