Patrick Mahomes gave Giants fans an unfortunate reminder on Saturday night.

Nick Bolton’s 86-yard fumble return touchdown brought to mind Daniel Jones’ infamous stumble for the Kansas City quarterback.

“I thought he was gonna go down,” Mahomes said on ESPN. “… He almost went forward. No offense to Daniel Jones, but he almost gave ’em one of those.”

Jones went viral last season after falling down on what would have been a touchdown run — instead of just an 80-yard sprint and stumble — against the Eagles in a moment he’d probably rather forget. Bolton did manage to stay upright, scoring what ended up being the game-winning touchdown in a 28-24 win.

Still, that didn’t save Jones from some ribbing — and it may be a while before similar plays don’t call the Giants quarterback to mind.

When the trip happened, Mahomes joined in on the Twitter reaction, saying, “I mean I can’t even say anything cause I would never be able to run that far either.”

Jones, who hasn’t played since Week 12 because of a neck injury, has said he doesn’t mind going viral.

“My friends and family get a kick out of it,” he said on the “All In with Art Stapleton” podcast back in October.
