A viral video showed police in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, telling a group of teenagers that they needed a license to ride a bike in the city before confiscating their bicycles and arresting a member of the group.
Video, basically Posted on YouTube The confrontation is escalated into a war of words, with the police eventually handcuffing the young man, who is black, and sending him to the stationhouse, before spreading through Twitter.
“We live in Edison,” the boy prods as police prepare to remove the bike. “How do we get to Edison?”
“I don’t have a problem,” says a female officer. “Get off the bike, man.”
The 17-minute clip, originally posted on Saturday, begins with the police capturing a group of boys, who appear to be of many ages and races.
The officers later capture a handful of riders and force them to stop.
“You guys must have a license,” a police observer tells the youth in the clip, one of whom replied incredulously: “Four cops for a bike?”
The supervisor calmly explained to the riders that he simply wanted to keep them safe, as he clapped for the children to leave.
But the woman soldier says that she has already warned them that they cannot ride “in the middle”. The officer argues with the group, holding onto the rider’s handle bar that was later arrested and brought beforehand.
As the boy argues with the police, the officer declares: “Take their bike.” He continues to sit on the bike and argues with the police, who eventually put him in a cuff.
“Your man didn’t get the slightest control,” a policeman can be heard explaining that the boy is handcuffed.
The massive clip ends with the young man being freed at the clip station.
“Technically, if I wanted a hole, is your bike registered with us? [If not,] I do not need to give it back to you. “If all of you are getting on the road, stay on the right side of the road.”
The Perth Amboy law requires bicycle riders to obtain a license from the city’s police chief.

The post stated that the boy who was arrested was “abusive”, as he was “upset and speaking angrily because of being dragged over us.” He was the main target. “
“At the end of the day, the PAPD could have handled this situation much better than taking our bikes and arresting someone.”
Footage of the arrest began to circulate on Twitter on Monday, with many saying a bike ride in the city required a license.
