‘Pose’ stars reflect the show’s impact: ‘I’m sad it’s over’

Ryan Murphy’s “Pose” will begin closing its runway when the third and final season closes on FX at 10 pm on Sunday night. Since it premiered to acclaim in 2018, the series has shed a light on the underground ballroom scene of the 1980s and 90s. It has also served as a springboard for its grassroots artists, including rising transgender and nonbinary artists, some of whom were part of that movement in real life.

Sandra Bernhard, who was regularly cast in the series as nurse Judy Kuberk in season 2, both regretted the end of the unique show and praised its impact on the cast – and showcased the unseen-unseen culture.

“I’m sad that it’s over,” Bernhard, 65, told the Post. “I don’t think there will be another show like ‘Pose’. I don’t think anything will ever occupy the time, the way it was, and the talent and people to use it from that time, you know? And Then they give them a job!

“It’s just a blossoming time for everyone,” she said.

“Now I can sit here and say I’ve really strengthened my roots – there’s actually a leading lady next to a leading man [Porter] A great show.
