Prince Philip remains in hospital after heart surgery

Prince Philip is hospitalized after heart surgery earlier this week.

The 99-year-old father of the British royal family was hospitalized in February as a “precautionary measure”, which later emerged as an infection. He underwent heart surgery on Wednesday.

Originally admitted to the private King Edward VII Hospital in London, the Duke of Edinburgh was transferred to St Bartholomew’s Hospital to go under the knife.

According to reports, he was taken back to King Edward’s on Friday. Royal watchers see the move as a sign of improvement in his health, but the palace has not commented on his condition.

Yesterday, the representative for the husband of Queen Elizabeth II told the press, “The duke is expected to remain in the hospital to continue treatment for several days.”
