Time to read the writing in the sky, governor.
A women’s rights advocacy group flew a banner calling for Gov. Andrew Cuomo to be removed from office Wednesday afternoon in the wake of Attorney General Letitia James’ explosive report on his yearlong campaign of sexual misconduct.
“The report is in. Remove Cuomo now,” read the banner, which was tugged by a plane above the State Capitol building in Albany at about 1 p.m.
The stunt was organized by UltraViolet, a women’s advocacy group, according to a press release by the group.
“This report proves what we suspected — Andrew Cuomo is unfit to represent New York State,” UltraViolet’s Bridget Todd said in a statement Tuesday after James made her much-anticipated report public.
“We implore Democrats who called for this investigation to take the results seriously. Anything less is unacceptable and a flagrant disregard for past, present and future employees and residents of New York State,” the statement adds.
At a press conference Tuesday, James said her investigators corrobrated 11 women who accused the governor of sexual misconduct — and that he violated state and federal law.
Cuomo refused to resign after the report was released and denied wrongdoing. On Wednesday a number of local prosecutors, including the Manhattan DA’s Office, said they were investigating the accusations.
