Ricky Fowler hits Rock Bottom in ‘Commercial’ digs as Nick Faldo

Ricky Fowler is seeking a long-awaited return to this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, which would do wonders for his bid to extend a streak of 41 consecutive major exhibitions.

Fowler, ranked 65th in the world rankings and without a top-10 finish since January 2020, can survive his major streak by winning the PGA Tour event ahead of the April 8–11 Masters or coming back in the top 50.

It could prove to be a daunting task that Fowler, once a five-time winner on the PGA Tour, once ranked fourth in the world, has missed 10 of his last 25 cuts.

“Everyone who really played at all, especially at a higher level, fully understands that golf is top-down,” Fowler said Tuesday in Bay Hill.

“You take advantage of the times where you’re playing well and ride those guys because you know it’s not always that way, there are times where it’s going to go down and you’re going through it. Those who fight

“Unfortunately, it’s a bit longer than I’d like it to be, but, yes, we’re grinding through it.”

Despite his struggles on the course, Fowler remains one of the more recognizable faces in the game. CBS analyst and six-time lead winner Nick Faldo feels this may be part of the problem.

Faldo did a bit of digging on Twitter, quoting him tweeting a story about Fowler’s struggles, stating how many of the commercials he has referred to. Recent Interview with Golf Digest, Fowler estimated that he spends 25–30 days a year shooting commercials.

Fowler told Golf Digest In a separate interview this week that his failures have begun to affect the relationship between him and Caddy Joe Scovron.

“It’s very disappointing,” Fowler said. β€œIt has been difficult at times between Joe and I of course. We have a great relationship, we’ve known each other for a long time, but when I’m out there and I’m not hitting the shots I’m imagining and watching, it’s tough. It is difficult for all of us who are attached to my wife, to my wife – she is staying at home with me. “

Fowler has competed at Bay Hill nine times and his best performance came in 2013 when he finished in a part of third place.

He said he was not able to carry out the scenes he envisioned, but hoped that his 20th appearance at Genesis Invitational – his best result of the season – is a sign that things are heading in the right direction .

“A lot of what I’m saying about this is just on the mental side, just to come back and just play as much as possible,” Fowler said. “It’s a matter of time. We’ll just keep beating Dar Dor and she’ll fall.”
