The Jets’ rogue minicamp began Friday afternoon. Although the team’s rogue draft picks and free agents are starting for the NFL to begin with, they are not the only ones to be used for a new role.
Robert Saleh is in his first year as head coach of the NFL. And simply put, the former 49ers Defensive Coordinator does not always remember that he has had his head back enough.
Case and point: After Friday’s practice, Saleh explained to reporters that he had almost forgotten that it was his job to give a post-practice speech.
“Horns were played for practice,” Salle explained. “I started taking my usual place behind the hoodl to speak to the head coach, and I was like, ‘Oh shoot! That’s me!’ “

Very funny with Saleh. It is also understandable that Saleh spent the last four seasons as a defensive coordinator and has been working as a defensive assistant since 2005.
As long as Saleh is not used to having a common practice-day routine, he can occasionally make mistakes. For now, he is getting ready for a new routine, which introduces him as the head coach of the Jets.
Very soon, Saleh cannot forget that he is the head coach at any point. Jet fans can just be thankful that this comic happened in the insignificant Gough Rocky minicamp and not in front of the entire team. Or worse, during an actual game.
There is still time for those two things to happen, but after Friday, it seems that will not happen again.
