“Who Says” Selena Gomez would let an ex-boyfriend come between her and her friends?
On Thursday, the singer posted pics with DJ duo Simi Khadra and her twin sister, Haze Khadra — just days after Simi was spotted kissing Gomez’s ex-boyfriend, The Weeknd.
“Since 2013 ?” Gomez, 29, captioned a series of snaps of the three smiling and hugging.
Khadra’s new rumored romance confused many fans given her close relationships with both Gomez and Bella Hadid — who dated The Weeknd on and off beginning in 2015.
Hadid also apparently didn’t take the news of Khadra’s relationship with her ex-beau as well as Gomez. The 25-year-old model unfollowed the twins’ joint Instagram after news broke that Khadra and her ex were getting cozy at his 32nd birthday party.
“The Weeknd and Simi have been seeing each other and having fun together. They were acting very couple-y this past weekend at his birthday celebration in Vegas,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“It’s easy since they have known each other for a long time. Simi is supportive of The Weeknd and they have a natural flirtation and chemistry.”
Rumors that The Weeknd was dating Khadra, 28, started swirling earlier this month after they were spotted on several dinner dates together in LA, E! News reported.
Hadid and the “Blinding Lights” singer started dating in 2015 and called it quits after a year and a half. They gave things another shot in July 2018, only to break up again a year later in August 2019.
The model is currently dating art director Marc Kalman.
During The Weeknd and Hadid’s first break up, the “Blinding Lights” singer dated Gomez from January to October 2017. Ever since their split, Gomez has referred to the musician — real name Abel Tesfaye — as a “great friend.”
“I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life,” Gomez said at the time. “We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me.”
