A 39-year-old woman was slashed with a boxcutter on a Manhattan train when a squabble turned violent late Tuesday, cops said.
The victim was on a southbound 5 train at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue on the Upper East Side around 9 p.m. when she got into an argument with another female straphanger, police said.
The suspect then slashed the woman in the forehead with a boxcutter, cops said.
The assailant, described as heavyset, approximately in her 50s, fled, authorities said. She was last seen carrying an orange backpack and wearing gray sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt and a tan jacket.
The victim was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The two women did not appear to know each other, cops said.
Separately, a man was robbed at knifepoint on the northbound A train platform at Dyckman Street and Broadway in Inwood around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, cops said.
The thief, who appeared to be in his 30s and wore all black, stole the male victim’s wallet, cops said. He was still at large later in the morning.
