Thief dies before being shot while answering door in NYC

A few days after the death of a former thief, the man who knocked on the door of his Brooklyn NYCHA apartment was blasted in the face and chest, police said.

Police said 47-year-old Jaroid Tyndall was in his apartment in Williamsville, part of the Independence Towers in Taylor Williamsburg, around 8 pm on March 8.

He answered and the person fired, police said.

He was taken to Woodhull Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead six days later on Sunday.

It was not clear on Monday whether Tindall knew the gunman.

According to police, Tindal has had 10 prior arrests.

He was jailed on charges of second-degree murder from 1996 to 2004, when he was conditionally released on parole, state corrections records show.

He also served time for first-degree assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
