Hold off on the official Tom Brady tributes. For now.

According to Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians, Brady hasn’t yet informed the organization he’s retiring.

“No, he hasn’t that we know of,” Arians told the Tampa Bay Times. “Agent [Don Yee] just told us he hasn’t made up his mind.”

Brady called Buccaneers GM Jason Licht to inform him he has not made up his mind, according to the report.

News of Brady’s expected retirement broke on Saturday afternoon but the closest thing to a confirmation came with a tweet from the TB12 account. The post from Brady’s company has since been deleted. Yee, Brady’s agent, issued a statement to reporters that didn’t include a denial, nor much clarity on his client’s future.

“I understand the advance speculation about Tom’s future,” Yee said. “Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what is being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy. He knows the realities of the football business and planning calendar as well as anybody, so that should be soon.”

That leaves things pretty much unresolved officially, at least for now. It had been reported that Brady was expected to make a decision soon and likely did not want to upstage Sunday’s championship game. Page Six reported Friday that Brady’s longtime assistant Ben Rawitz been been talking to other top quarterbacks about about employment, only added to the retirement speculation

It appears we are going to have to wait to hear it from Brady himself.
