Tom Hanks gave one Pittsburgh bride the surprise of a lifetime on Saturday when he asked to take a photo with her and her bridal party on her wedding day.

“He was like, ‘Hey! I’m Tom Hanks. I would love to get a photo with you’ and I immediately froze and was just looking around,” the bride, Grace Gwaltney, told KCRA of the chance encounter. “I didn’t know what to do.”

Gwaltney told the outlet that Hanks, 65, approached them in front of the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh as they were getting ready to leave for her ceremony.

“We all lost it,” wedding photographer Rachel Rowland told KCRA. “The bridesmaids shuffled out of the limo, and he posed with photos and congratulated everyone, and then as fast as he popped in, he was gone. It was just so sweet and fun!”

Gwaltney added, “You see him and then he starts speaking and he was like, ‘You look so beautiful. I’m so happy for you.’ He was talking in my ear … I was thinking of ‘Toy Story.’”

In another interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Rowland said Hanks was “just as wonderful and charming as you’d assume,” revealing that his wife, Rita Wilson, was there “and got in some photos, too.”

The bride was so pleasantly surprised by the encounter, that she couldn’t help but tell her partner, Luke, just moments before they wed at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Music Hall.

“We had a moment before the ceremony and we prayed and we were holding hands and going back-to-back so we wouldn’t see each other,” she revealed to KCRA. “’Luke, I just met Tom Hanks.’ I had to sneak that in there.”

Ironically, Gwaltney and her sister discussed Hanks being in town while shooting his latest film, “A Man Called Otto,” shortly before their chance meeting.

“He is filming his new movie and my sister and I were just talking about how much we love the book that he is filming the movie for so it was kinda like full-circle,” she said. “It was honestly like crazy because we were just talking about him.”

“I’m sure a lot of other Pittsburgh brides would love for him to photobomb their shots,” she added.

Page Six has reached out to Hanks’ rep for comment.
