Tracy Morgan’s daughter, 8, does her own standup set

Tracy Morgan surprised some aspiring young performers this week, and his own young daughter showed that she may have a comedy career of her own.

The former “Saturday Night Live” star made an unannounced appearance at Radio City Music Hall when 65 kids rehearsed for Madison Square Garden’s upcoming “Garden of Dreams Talent Show.”

A spy said, “Tracy got a huge ovation” from the kids and their parents, “and he sat down with a few Rockettes to watch some of the children rehearse their dance, rap and singing acts.”

The source added, “Tracy was with his 8-year-old daughter, Maven, who asked to come up at the end to tell a few jokes to the crowd. Maven picked up the mike and — just like her dad — ripped off some jokes and told a funny story! The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

We hear Morgan was particularly moved by the performance of an 11-year-old girl with brain cancer, who “braved it out and performed an amazing dance routine that she’s ready to show the public on April 13 as one of 100 kids that will live out their dreams of performing” at Radio City.

Morgan is a board member of MSG’s Garden of Dreams Foundation. Also in attendance to mentor the kids was rapper Papoose and classical pianist Chloe Flower. The foundation’s talent show is back after a two year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He joked about their split in a comedy routine himself earlier this year, we reported. “My wife took this whole social distancing thing a little too far,” the comic — who split from his wife of five years during the coronavirus pandemic in July 2020 — joked during the stand-up set at Carolines on Broadway. “I called her up and asked if she was quarantining, and she responded, ‘Call it what you want… I left and I ain’t coming back!’”
