Jrue Holiday’s offensive performance during the first two games of the 2021 NBA Finals has left a lot to be desired.
Holiday is averaging 13.5 points per game in the series and hasn’t shot well. He is at 31.4 percent from the floor and has made just one of his seven 3-point shot attempts in the two games, both of them Bucks losses.
If Milwaukee fans feel like they have seen performances like this before, it’s because they have.

In the 2021 NBA playoffs, Holiday has put forth shooting splits that are eerily similar to those of Eric Bledsoe. Here’s a look at the numbers, via StatMuse.

The Bucks unloaded Bledsoe to get Holiday in a trade with the Pelicans because of Bledsoe’s lackluster postseason performances. The hope was that Holiday would be an upgrade. He hasn’t lived up to expectations yet — at least on the offensive side.
Throughout Milwaukee’s 118-108 Game 2 loss to Phoenix, NBA Twitter poked fun at Holiday’s shooting (he finished 7 for 21 on Thursday) and Milwaukee’s decision to trade Bledsoe and three unprotected first-round picks for him.

I feel bad for Giannis man, they gave all that up for Jrue and gave him a max extension just for him to be Eric Bledsoe the Remix.

Holiday still has time to change the narrative, and he has been productive on defense. He had a nice block on Deandre Ayton in Game 2, one of his two blocks in the game. He also had two steals.
Still, the Bucks need more out of Holiday on offense, and they need it soon. The Suns lead the series 2-0. The Bucks will host the next two games at Fiserv Forum, Sunday and Wednesday.
