Christopher Warnagiris, 40, posted at Quantico, was arrested on Thursday for assaulting, resisting or accusing him of assaulting some officers; Obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorganization; And obstruction of justice, the Department of Justice said in a statement.

According to the prosecution, through a line of police officers were guarding Rotanda’s door.

Once inside, he was standing near one of the doors and used his body to prop him out into the open and feed tight rioters.

An officer from the Capitol Police tried to close the door in the midst of a scuffle, and Varnagiris was captured in the video.

Varangiris is believed to be the first active military personnel charged in connection with the riots, CBS News reports.

Five people, including a Capitol police officer, died during or shortly after the riots on January 6, when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to reverse the 2020 presidential election.

According to the DOJ, federal prosecutors have arrested some 440 people since the riot.
