Pulse-pounding video captures the tense moment NYPD officers rescue a 4-year-old boy who plunged from a sixth-story window in the Bronx and rush him to the hospital.

The boy apparently pushed an air conditioner out of the window around noon Tuesday at NYCHA’s Patterson Houses on East 143rd Street in Mott Haven. His mom was home at the time, according to police.

Police were called to the building and found the child “conscious and alert lying on the pavement,” police said.

The dramatic footage, released by the NYPD Wednesday, shows a bystander – surrounded by police – tending to the boy on the ground. The bystander handed the child off to an officer, who ran with him to an awaiting police van.

Cops drove the boy to Lincoln Medical Center, where EMTs and even more cops tended to him as he was placed on a stretcher.

He was listed in stable condition, cops said.
