Virginia police shot badly during a regular traffic stop

A police officer said a Virginia police officer was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Friday afternoon.

48-year-old officer Nick Vinum stopped suspect Dakota Richards’ car in Stanley City at 3:30 pm, According to the Daily News-Record.

But the suspect got out of his car and left his patrol car before the five-year-old elderly.

Vinum died on the spot. The outlet reported that Richards fled and was arrested by law enforcement at a nearby farm.

The police department was mourning the death of Vinum.

“Since joining our department in 2016, he has proudly served and protected the Stanley community,” Chief Ryan Dean Said in a statement Posted on Facebook.

“I know that the Stanley and Page County communities are keeping Nick and his family in their prayers during this most difficult and tragic time.”
