A Westchester County woman was busted with a stack of fake COVID-19 vaccination cards after she was caught driving a car with a bogus license plate, prosecutors said.
Mount Vernon resident Diana Finlay, 53, was arrested in Harrison when police noticed the sham temporary New Jersey registration tag on her car, Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah said in a statement.
After Finlay’s arrest on Sept. 23, police found 21 phony vaccination cards and three more fake temporary registration tags, Rocah said.
She was arraigned Tuesday in Harrison Town Court on five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, the DA said.
“The District Attorney’s Office will vigorously investigate and prosecute anyone who is found purchasing, possessing, making, or selling forged vaccination cards,” Rocah said in a statement.
“The health and safety of the public is our top priority, and we will not tolerate conduct that puts individuals at increased risk of the serious effects of COVID-19. Our investigation is ongoing and any individuals who may have relevant information about someone in possession of or selling fake vaccination cards are asked to contact our office.”
