Yankee among teams participating in Yonis Cespedes Showcase

FORT PIERCY, Florida – Eleven teams, including Ivanka, had scouts on hand for Yonis Cespedes’ workout as the slugging outfielder’s goal is another MLB opportunity.

The 35-year-old Cespedes was on the field for 50 minutes in total. He kept the fly ball in the center before the batting practice session and then left the field.

The Blue Jay, Brewers, Marlins, Razs, Tigers, Reds, Cubs, White Sox, Padres and Braves were also present for the performance.

Cespedes, coming out of the 2020 season after 10 games, cited COVID-19. However, The Post reported that Cespedes was disappointed after being baked for a second time and confronted Mets officials before exiting his Atlanta hotel room without warning.

Cespedes, who missed the last two seasons with multiple injuries, was hitting .131 with two home runs in 31 at-bats before his departure.
