New Orleans forward Zion Williamson can now be called an NBA All-Star, and only three others in the 70-year history of the game have entered there at an early age.
Williamson is one of four first-time All-Stars, all revealed on Tuesday night when the league announced reserves for the March 7 game in Atlanta. Joining him as fellow All-Star crooks: Jaylen Brown of Boston, Julius Randall of the Knicks and Zac Lavin of Chicago.
Chris Paul of Phoenix is an All-Star for the 11th time, and James Harden of the Nets is one for the ninth consecutive year. The remaining reserves include Ben Simmons of Philadelphia, Jason Tatum of Boston and Nikola Vusevic of Orlando from the Eastern Conference, Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers – Paul George, Utah teammates Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert and Portland. Damien Lillard from the Western Conference.
“It’s definitely an honor,” Mitchell said.
LeBron James, the captain of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets will draft their teams next week. The roster will be unveiled on March 4. The fans, initially revealed last week, were selected through a combination of voting with NBA players. And a media panel.

Randall has been the best player for the Knucks, trying to make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Brown has a career-best 25.5 points for Boston. And LaVine has been to All-Star multiple times before the weekend, winning two dunk contests and one MVP award at the Ranks Stars game. But this would be his first time in the All-Star Game.
James and Durant will choose one of the first eight other starters for their teams when the draft occurs: Milwaukee’s Giannis Entetoconumpo, Washington’s Bradley Beal, Golden States ‘Stephen Curry, Dallas’ Luo Donsick, Philadelphia’s Joel Mbid, Qui Irving of Brooklyn, Qui Leonard of Denver Nicocola Los Angeles Clippers.
