Apple will now allow you to add virtual lasers and confetti to your laser video

Apple now lets you add augmented-reality lasers, confetti, and more to your clip videos thanks to an update to the short-form video app. The feature, named AR Spaces, will give users room-filling effects to Apple devices equipped with LIDAR (as of now, iPhone 12 Pros and iPad Pros 2020 or later) that can interact with walls and floors. Apple says that AR Spaces Effects should work with other effects built into clips, such as animated stickers and emoji, if you want to add more to your video. Updates to the app can now be downloaded from the App Store.

The clips update is Apple’s latest experiment with AR, which the company has a keen interest in. The company released an AR experience tie-in to its show for all Mankind In February, and CEO Tim Cook discussed some of their ideas about AR Tech in an interview earlier this month. There are also rumors that Apple is working on a full AR / VR headset.
